Statement by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on May 27, 2009:
“I as Minister of Finance I have written to the Accounting Officer and the Director of Audit so that the facts of the procurement of the bins can be ascertained and recommendations if any for action to be taken if there are any irregularities to have them remedied as a matter of urgency… I am waiting (to hear from) the Accounting Officer and the Director of Audit on the matter. So in my capacity of Minister of Finance and Prime Minister I have in fact written to the Director of Audit and the Accounting Officer to provide that report to me as a matter of urgency. Because there are questions to be raised and there are questions to be answered and that report I am hoping will provide the accurate answers and deal with the facts of the matter as they are.”
